My Narrative

Taking the step to begin therapy can feel challenging—and you don’t have to do it alone. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the very first session. I focus on building a genuine connection while offering meaningful insight or relief early in the process. This is especially important when working with adolescents, young adults, and men, who may feel hesitant at the start.

I meet clients where they are, helping them build on their strengths while addressing the challenges they’re facing. Together, we define clear, shared goals, and I serve as both a guide and an advocate for your growth and well-being. My approach is affirming, while also being honest and direct. During the initial assessment, I’ll help determine whether I’m the right fit—and if not, I’ll support you in finding someone who is.

I specialize in working with men and young men navigating anxiety, depression, athletic pressures, life transitions, grief, and career exploration. My work also includes coaching, consulting, and training. I use integrative, client-centered, and multi-sensory approaches designed to actively engage clients and create meaningful progress within the first few sessions.

In addition to clinical work, I’ve had the opportunity to lead trainings and workshops both nationally and internationally. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve served in mental health and substance use leadership roles, including Clinical Director and now Executive Director of a residential program.

On a personal note, I’ve called Nashville home for over 20 years and truly value being part of this community. I grew up on a dairy farm in southern West Virginia and attended West Virginia University (Go Mountaineers!). Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors and have a deep love for dogs—especially boxers.
